Jamie Pitlick, PharmD, BCPS, BC-ADM, is Professor and Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the Diabetes Concentration at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She also practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with Iowa Diabetes, where she provides diabetes education and medication management as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
Dr. Pitlick received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a concentration in diabetes from Drake University and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Mercy Family Medicine. She is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.
With more than 15 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care and endocrinology, Dr. Pitlick’s areas of expertise include diabetes pharmacotherapy, insulin management, diabetes technology, and patient education. Her scholarship focuses on improving diabetes care through innovative models of care, technology, and pharmacist involvement. Her work has included research involving continuous glucose monitoring, insulin management, and team-based diabetes care.
Dr. Pitlick is an active educator and presenter in diabetes care and pharmacy practice. Across her academic and clinical roles, she is committed to preparing healthcare professionals to provide practical, evidence-based, patient-centered diabetes care.
